Studio-picture "The true end of Art is not to imitate a fixed material condition, but to represent a living motion. The intelligence to be conveyed by it is not of an outer fact, but of an inner life."

- George Inness from "Mr. Inness on Art Matters" Journal 5 (1879)

After spending nearly 2o years in the Design world, Christina changed artistic direction and began to paint. Awestruck by the landscape, she has come to study its ever-changing qualities that make it so unique.

"So deep is nature's effect on me that I am profoundly aware of the ever changing light, tones and values of my surroundings. I see the way the trees look in the summer, full of life and color, and later as the seasons change study the structure of the same trees and marvel at their grace. At first, I took hundreds of photographs to document what I saw, but was so often disappointed by the images afterward. The sheer act of looking and studying nature imprinted like a photo negative in my mind. Since then, I paint solely off memory, creating paintings that bring peace and a special quietude. This freed me up to paint not only what I may have seen but also more importantly what I feel. I want to create the places in my paintings that are in other peoples minds, or places that they may want to witness themselves."

Drawing and painting has always been a passion for Christina, and she developed her skills at a very young age, encouraged by her art teachers to draw what she sees in numerous sketchbooks in school. This artistic interest led her to the Cleveland Institute of Art where she was intrigued not only by the fine arts, but by the art of Industrial design.

Christina holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from of the Cleveland Institute of Art with a major in Industrial Design and a minor in Graphic Design. Other areas of study included photography, painting and jewelry/metal arts.

The majority of Christina's career has been centered working in the toy industry but with a never-ending desire to continue into the fine arts as well, exploring watercolors, pastels and eventually oil paints. Areas of specialization included preschool and infant toys and products. She enjoyed working on many exciting product lines including the redesign of Tinker toys, Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, and Play-Doh products. However, Christina's deep love has always been painting. After leaving the corporate world in 2001 she began to paint in both pastels and oils has enhanced her studies by taking professional workshops, including local New England Artists, Dennis Sheehan, Joseph McGurl and William R Davis, among many other leading artists and has participated in several group shows.
